In the heart of West Sussex, Sussex Facilities Management (SFM) stands as a testament to the power of local collaboration and community-focused service. Born from a partnership between two established local companies founded by Mark Jackson and Lee Wells in 2017, SFM was launched in 2019, merging the knowhow of two companies: a compliance-based and a partitioning business. Since then, SFM has carved a niche in the facilities management sector by offering tailored, flexible and client-centric solutions.
SFM was established with a set of five values in order to provide facilities management services that prioritise relationships, simplicity, flexibility, first time solution and care.

By combining the strengths and expertise of its founding partners Mark and Lee, SFM created a client-focused service that not only meets the operational needs of businesses but also aligns with the values of the community it serves. SFM’s client portfolio now includes partnerships with Sussex Wildlife Trust, Age UK West Sussex Brighton & Hove and Blatchington Court Trust within the third sector.
Sussex Facilities Management’s case study success
One of our first highly impactful projects was the complete office refurbishment of Avalara, one of the fastest growing and most trusted tax automation solution providers, based in Brighton. The project included installation of partitioning, installation of a staff kitchen and bar area, sourcing and installation of office equipment and fitting a waterproof carpet. Being deeply rooted in Sussex, SFM is committed to supporting the local community. We prioritise using local resources and engineers, ensuring that our operations contribute positively to the regional economy and reduce environmental impact through minimised travel distances.
We further recognise the need to give back to our community, forming a partnership delivery with Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP), a national initiative that brings together the public, private and voluntary sectors to help people tackle fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency in homes across England. We’re proudly to be supporting LEAP’s efforts within West Sussex, Brighton and Hove to:
- Reduce energy bills for residents, providing education and installing energy efficiency measures
- Improve living conditions and health outcomes related to cold, damp homes
- Increase income for residents via benefits checks and tariff switches
- Refer vulnerable households to additional support services
